Depart Newport Marina 9.00 am, returning at 4.00pm.

When you dream of a tropical island, Moreton Island is what you dream of; palm trees, clear sparkling sea, and white sandy beaches. Moreton Island is a great destination for a day out for the whole family. The island is 97% National Park and therefore has very little development. You can enjoy great facilities on board Big Cat Reality as we cruise around the shores. Our eco tour offers a great way to explore the history of the island as well as a way to understand the eco systems on, around and below the island.

Morning tea is served as we cruise across sea grass watching out for dolphins, dugongs and turtles while the fragile nature of the island is explained by our experienced guide. Once we arrive at Tanglooma you have the option for a guided snorkelling experience at no extra cost around the wrecks under the close supervision of our dive professionals. A BBQ lunch is served under the shade of our large sun deck over looking the wrecks. We then take a short cruise whilst enjoying afternoon tea to Bulwer with the chance of boom netting for the more adventurous. Once arriving at Bulwer we take time to relax on the beautiful white sandy beach and swim in the clear sparkling water.

Relaxed and refreshed we head back to Scarborough taking in the sunset across Moreton Bay.

Guests board Friday Night at 7:00 pm for an 8:30pm departure from our home birth at Newport Marina. On the way out, all divers are briefed in the lower back lounge area on the safety procedures and complete all paper work.  Transfer passengers to Moreton Island will be on the top deck for this first leg to Moreton Island and will disembark at 10:30pm and then Big Cat will Anchor up for the night to give you the chance to have a nice calm sleep in your air-conditioned birth.

Saturday Morning Big Cat heads out to our first dive site ready to dive at about 6:30am.  We try to offer the best sites available given the weather conditions, however it is normally a site like Robert’s Shoal, Cement-co, Hutchison’s Shoal or one of our other great sites. A continental breakfast is available from  05:30am thought to 08:30am. Your dive cylinder is filled ready for the next dive at about 9am.  Hot morning tea and fruit platters are then served and we are off to complete our third dive for the day at about 11:30am.  After this dive we head to the calm waters behind the reef to relax and have a delicious hot lunch with fresh garden salads.  The afternoon gives you the chance to watch a movie, sunbake on the top deck or have a sleep in your air-conditioned birth. At 3:30pm the dive crew rallies the divers to the dive deck to start the afternoon dive which is normally on one of the moorings at the beautiful Flinders Reef.   The sun going down marks the opportunity to enjoy the reef at night for your fifth and final dive of the day, the night dive.  Once back onboard you enjoy a nice hot shower as Big Cat steams to a safe, calm anchorage for the night.  At our anchorage, the famous Big Cat BBQ is served followed by dessert and a good nights sleep.

Sunday Morning is the chance for a deeper dive normally at Gotham City, Breanna’s Balcony or another great site.  After breakfast we set up for the second dive of the day around about 9am.  More delicious fruit and snacks for morning tea and off to complete your eighth and final dive for the weekend.  The last dive is normally shallower and sometimes is in the calm waters of Moreton Bay on one of the many wreck and rock sites we have to offer.  On our way back to Newport Marina we make a quick stop to pick up transfer passengers from Bulwer and head home arriving back about 6:00pm.

Conditions for all tours: Cruises will be cancelled upon the discretion of the cruise operators taking into account the sea and weather conditions of the day. Reschedule or full refund will be given. Cancellation policy for a trip with less than 24 hours notice no refund will be given, greater than 24 hours notice 50% refund. Tours are number dependant. The operators reserve the right to substitute the vessel and/or change the day's itinerary or snorkel site without notice. Prices subject to change without notice.
